Why did police officers feel the need to shoot an unarmed young black father of two 20 times? They chased him to the backyard, where authorities say he turned and advanced toward the officers “while holding an object which was extended in front of him.”
If their account is true why does the autopsy seem to indicate that most of the bullets tore through this young man’s body from the back? You already know why. After you read this article, read the entire article below for your answer.

Many African Americans and most other folks are not aware of this, but the Clotilda sailed in about 1858. That is only 100 years before my birth of 1959. Not that long ago!

After Dylann Roof, an open white supremacist who plotted to intensify an American race war, was welcomed into Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., with open arms, he prayed with parishioners before, authorities charge, he opened fire on them, killing nine. He was eventually captured, and police officers promptly gave him a bulletproof vest—you know, in case any big, scary black people wanted revenge—and took him to Burger King because he was hungry.
Johnson, however, didn’t “have it his way”; instead, he was blown up with the violent use of remote force.
All hate is NOT the same
Micah Johnson, Dylann Roof
Taken from the article below: "The first narrative is that “killing someone because of the color of their uniform is the same thing as racism." This claim reveals a profound misunderstanding of what constitutes racism, as well as its impact on the life chances of people of color in the United States. A police uniform can be removed. A person’s skin color — and the value assigned to it by dominant society —cannot be so easily changed. In all, a belief that racism and the wearing of a uniform have anything in common with one another is the type of lazy thinking which is encouraged by the fiction that America in the Age of Obama is somehow “colorblind” or “post racial."
The second narrative is that, “Dylann Roof and Micah Johnson did the same thing”. This is not true. Yes, both men committed a horrible act of mass murder. But their motivations as well as the social and political context of their deeds are fundamentally different.
Roof is a terrorist. He committed an act of political violence against a marginalized and historically oppressed group.
Roof is a white supremacist. Driven by that belief, he decided to kill 9 unarmed black people after a prayer meeting in Charleston, North Carolina’s Ebenezer Baptist Church. Roof’s manifesto explains that he wanted to kill black people because white people were “oppressed” in their “own country," “illegal immigrants” and “Jews” were ruining the United States, and African-Americas are all criminals. Like other white supremacists and white nationalists (and yes, many “respectable” white conservatives as well) Roof’s political and intellectual cosmology is oriented around a belief that white Americans are somehow marginalized or treated badly in the United States. This is perverse and delusional: white people are the most economically and politically powerful racial group in the United States; American society is oriented around the protection of white privilege.
Ultimately, Roof’s views are absurd, twisted, fantastical, and possess little if any relationship to the world as it actually exists.
Micah Johnson is also a terrorist. Unlike, Roof, he targeted symbols of state power and authority."

“Race is a trigger for police brutality,” Jack Glaser, an associate professor at University of California-Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, told The Huffington Post last year. Much of this may be based on the history of policing in America and the fact that modern-day policing, at least in the South, grew out of slave patrols.

Point to Ponder: We just read these words through one of the links above:
“The development of policing in the United States closely followed the development of policing in England. In the early colonies policing took two forms. It was both informal and communal, which is referred to as the “Watch,” or private-for-profit policing, which is called “The Big Stick” (Spitzer, 1979).”
and
“In the Southern states the development of American policing followed a different path. The genesis of the modern police organization in the South is the “Slave Patrol” (Platt 1982). The first formal slave patrol was created in the Carolina colonies in 1704 (Reichel 1992). Slave patrols had three primary functions: (1) to chase down, apprehend, and return to their owners, runaway slaves; (2) to provide a form of organized terror to deter slave revolts; and, (3) to maintain a form of discipline for slave-workers who were subject to summary justice, outside of the law, if they violated any plantation rules. Following the Civil War, these vigilante-style organizations evolved in modern Southern police departments primarily as a means of controlling freed slaves who were now laborers working in an agricultural caste system, and enforcing “Jim Crow” segregation laws, designed to deny freed slaves equal rights and access to the political system.”
Perhaps this open sore of racism has another possible permanent origin than even the “Slave Patrols” of the south and even the policing models from England.
In 1787, a convention was held in which George Washington, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, et. al. put together the original constitution. In Article I Section II, Natives are omitted from being counted in legislation. They explained that Natives were a sovereign group and no need to be included. Slaves (Black folks) were to be counted as 3/5 of a person. Washington, Madison, Jefferson, et.al explained that this was only for representation in congress and for tax purposes. Here is a diagram:
There was debate was over whether, and if so, how, slaves (considered property) would be counted when determining a state’s total population for legislative representation and taxing purposes. These men of 1787 decided that only 3 out of every 5 slaves would be counted where every white man would be counted. Either way, this divisive debate denigrated Black lives as humans and showed that they themselves, as well as their lives, were not worth as much as a white life whether it be legislation or any other occasions under the sun. Take time to actually read or watch the full reasoning behind Washington, Madison, Jefferson et.al, sneaky language as ALL of these white men writing the constitution owned black slaves and basically wished to keep their ‘property’.
200 years and many amendments later, how have we faired? Why did African Americans feel the need to organize groups like the Black Panthers for Defense to defend Black citizens against racist police brutality in the 60’s? Why the need to start Black Lives Matter in the 2013 to bring awareness and an end to constant racist police brutality? Really, how have we faired?
But we must remember, ALL police officers do not take part in such divisiveness as they execute their jobs. We do have police officers who truly serve and protect. But for those cops that are still living in the racist past? Stop saying to forget the past! YOU need to learn the past so YOU can stop making the same racist mistakes and killing black and brown people today and in the future!

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit of the last two survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, dampening the hope of advocates for racial justice that the government would make amends for one of the worst single acts of violence against Black people in U.S. history.

Maybe what matters more than labeling these terrifying killings and stopping the lost of humanity here in America and everywhere is just ENDING them. These horrors are all the worse. The lists of these US History atrocities go on and on…past….present….and unfortunately…future.

According to the report, the girl, who is black, attended the mostly white Live Oak Classical School, a private institution in Waco, Texas. The unidentified girl and her mother reportedly believe that the April incident school officials are saying is an accident was, in fact, a racially motivated attack, the culmination of months of bullying at the hands of classmates.

Messages of hatred and racism are being sent to local businesses. Latino business owners say they are the target of the hate mail. They don’t know who is sending the disturbing postcards but, they are afraid of what the real message might be.
